3 Things I am feeling lately...

1. Being positive and happy is a daily decision/choice I make.

2. Two steps forward one step back.

3. Some people will never be happy.

Had a great weekend with the kids...they are a lot of work alone, but totally fun!  Nathan helped me catch a giant grasshopper that flew into the house, then helped me shoo out a huge, but beautiful, butterfly out of the back door.  Fun times for a total arachnophobe.  Poor Nathan, hopefully he isn't too traumatized.

Serena has been walking around the house singing "I'm a Little Teapot", and she is so sweet and cute!  She also loves cuddling right up to mommy's face when tired.  Lovin it!

Just like mommy...I'm loving the nylons over her shorts with my shoes on too!

Have a great Veteran's Day!

I am soooo sick of this election.  It is the most divisive one that I can remember.  There is so much hate mongering from both sides.  Funny to me that only one side of the hate is being shown.  A lot is being exaggerated, and a lot is being left out.  What ever happened to fair.  Am I the only person that hears some of these large news outlets claiming to be fair reporters...but it is very obvious that they are slanted.  I can barely stand to watch TV or listen to the radio anymore.  Not everyone is biased, and every so often I hear fairness and equality in reporting...but it is very rare.

I know that I am not voting for someone based on the popular kids in the playground (jumping on the bandwagon), or because they are a woman, or because they are black, or because they are white.  I am not voting for someone just because they are one of my own (I lived in Arizona most of my life).  All I know is what my heart tells me, what my conscience tells me, and most importantly, what the Bible tells me.  I know that I have been praying, and I know that it doesn't matter who I think should be the next POTUS.  Whatever happens is within God's will (I pray), and I might or might not agree, but that is the great thing about faith.  Trusting that God is in control.  And despite the fact that people are already calling the election, I will vote.

I was a reporter for the school paper in High school (not a very good one), and I remember that not everything you hear is true, but that everything has a bit of truth in it.  Personally, I could vote for either candidate if I decided to do so, except...I am part of one party.  Both candidates have good points and bad.  Some things have been exaggerated, some watered down.  We are not seeing the whole picture because both sides don't want us to.

Ever since I got into sports, I have always been a 49ers fan, I will always be one...despite several losing seasons (13 years I believe).  I am no fair weather fan, obviously.  Even when the going gets tough, and the season is lost, I don't switch teams and start buying up Patriots or Giants jerseys. I hope (and in the case of politics, pray) the next coach can do a better job.

Regardless of who wins the election, they will be prayed for by me.  Because what they do over the next 4 or 8 years will affect my children.

Blessings.

I guess it's finally time to update my blog...

Things are going well in San Pedro & Los Angeles.  Our home is very nice and close to the pool (about a stone's throw).  We've been swimming a few times with the kids and they seem to love it!  They are also loving the staircase.  They like to climb on the outside rail so they can give mommy heart attacks and jump onto the sofa that has been placed strategically below in case of a fall.

They have both been very healthy since we've been here, and have only been to the doctor for routine care.

Nathan recently had 4 immunizations, and it was quite an event.  He was not happy, as I am sure you have already guessed.  He is adjusting to all of the changes slowly but surely, however, he still asks if we can go to "church".  Which I am assuming he means to Escondido.  He has many new friends and we look forward to the many more he will meet over the next few months while visiting new corps across the division.  He has also been singing around the house a lot!  In tune!  It is so much fun to watch and listen...once in awhile he will even let us sing along.

Serena had a couple of immunizations also, and she made it clear that she never wants to go back to the doctor's office again.  She seems to enjoy her new home.  She also loves climbing and loves to sit down anywhere she can take her Tinkerbell pillow, Tinkerbell blankie and her Ariel plastic doll.  This girl is a total princess.  She screams higher than Mariah Carey when she sees Tink, Ariel, Cinderella or Belle...and louder I am sure.  Her hair is getting long, and she still fusses a bit when I brush.  But she lets me braid it now.  The girl loves fruit.  She is still messy bessy when she eats.  I have added a picture that I am sure she will hate me for later.  I especially love the one with one shoe and sock off and food up the nostrils (our newest thing)...that one is for auntie Christie.

Our babies...I love em!

Heading off for the kids' first professional baseball game...the Dodgers vs the Phillies.  Wish us luck!

The kids were AWESOME!!!  They did terrific!  They loved the game and we made it all the way to the 7th inning stretch.  Serena clapped and kept telling the Phillies players "outta there" while pointing her thumb like the umpire...dancing during every song.  Everyone around us was laughing and smiling.  Nathan smiled, laughed and seemed to enjoy the crowd.  He was still and watched most of the time, then he became a little hyped toward the end.  We planned to leave earlier, but decided to stick it out since they were doing so well.  And Derek knows how much I love the 7th inning stretch.  The kids loved it too!  They also cheered for every homer.  It was a fantastic game!  Too bad I am a Diamondbacks/Giants fan (was Giants until my hometown got a team, now I am torn).

Post game photos...

Nathan is finally feeling better today.  He does have bronchiolitis, bronchitis, and strep (as my hubby mentioned on his blog).  His fever has almost disappeared, and he is definitely in a better mood.  Last night before bed I did a breathing treatment, sprayed nasal spray into his nostrils, gave him his medicine and he slept through until the next morning.  Serena is feeling pretty good too...she has been very huggy kissy lately and we are all eating it up!  Thank you for your prayers!!!  The kids are much better and seem to be doing well amidst all of the chaos in the house due to the move.  Please keep them in your prayers for continued improving health, and for our family during this move.

My mom has been here with us to help and she has been a blessing to us all!  Thanks mom...love you!

Gotta go...more packing up to do!  Blessings!
